Finding a trusted business adviser

When Nancy Csutoros and Laura Stansfeld of Context, a strategic content and communications consultancy, decided to strike out on their own, they knew they needed to change things up.

“We had an accountant, and he was perfectly lovely and diligent, but we wanted more – someone who could help us shape our business, nurture us and educate us,” says Nancy. “An ex-colleague recommended Bluebird Accounting, and from the moment we got in touch with them we were super-impressed not only with how they managed our business, but how they managed theirs.”

Bluebird Accounting looks strategically at Context’s compliance needs, but with a particular focus on tax planning. As a consultancy-based business, it can be hard to predict the future pipeline, so understanding the real-time financial status of the business is important to Context’s directors. “We feel secure when we can see the big picture, and that means understanding how much cash we need to put aside to meet our obligations,” says Nancy.

For Context, Bluebird Accounting have become more than a service, they’ve become trusted advisers. Says Nancy: “In both our business and personal lives, we know that we can go to Liz and Julian to logic-check our plans – both professionally and personally. It’s been great to have people understand our situation, and helps us make the most of it.”
